These terms govern use of this website and general enquiries for COG Studios services. A signed quotation, production agreement, statement of work, or other written contract may add or replace project-specific terms. Nothing here removes a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. Business details
This website and the services described on it are offered by Clifford Opwonya Group Studios (SMC) Limited, trading as COG Studios Uganda, a company registered in Uganda.
Business and service address: Plot 182 Kaduyu Road, Kampala, Uganda.
Telephone: +256 200 926110
Email: info@cog-studios.com
Website: www.cog-studios.com
2. Website use
You may use this website to review services and portfolio material and to contact us for a quotation. You must not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorised access, scrape personal data, misrepresent your identity, or reuse protected content without permission.
Portfolio items show examples of work and do not promise that every project will have the same crew, setting, style, result, or deliverables. External links and optional embeds are provided for convenience; the external provider controls its own service.
3. Prices, quotes, and bookings
- Website prices are in Uganda shillings and are starting estimates unless expressly described as a fixed package price.
- Prices exclude VAT where stated. Travel, accommodation, permits, venue charges, platform fees, advertising spend, specialist equipment, and other project costs may be added to the quotation.
- An enquiry or selection of a website package does not by itself create a booking.
- A production date is secured only when the scope and price are agreed in writing, the applicable agreement is signed, and the stated booking deposit is received.
- The final quotation or agreement will identify the services, price, taxes and costs, payment method, production date, delivery schedule, revision allowance, record-keeping method, and any minimum term.
Electronic contracting
Before accepting an electronic order, we will provide an opportunity to review the agreed transaction, correct mistakes, and withdraw before the order is placed. Consumer cancellation and refund rights are explained in our Refund Policy.
4. Client responsibilities
The client must provide accurate instructions, timely approvals, safe access, authorised contacts, required permits, venue permissions, and any materials or credentials needed for the work. The client must tell us about restrictions affecting filming, recording, drones, minors, private locations, music, trademarks, confidential information, or personal data.
Unless the production agreement assigns this responsibility to COG Studios, the client is responsible for securing permissions from its speakers, performers, staff, guests, property owners, rights holders, and other participants for the intended recording and use.
5. Changes, delays, and delivery
Changes to scope, schedule, locations, crew, equipment, or deliverables may change the price and timeline and must be agreed in writing. Delivery estimates begin when required materials, instructions, payments, and approvals have been received. We will notify the client if a material delay becomes known and agree a practical revised plan where possible.
Creative services involve judgement. Subjective preference alone is not a defect where delivered work materially matches the approved brief and technical specifications. Included revisions, acceptance steps, archive periods, and extra-work rates are stated in the project agreement.
6. Intellectual property, people, and portfolio use
Copyright, licences, ownership of source files, and the client’s permitted uses are governed by the production agreement. Unless expressly transferred in writing, payment does not automatically transfer every underlying copyright, source file, font, music, stock asset, platform element, or third-party right.
The client grants COG Studios permission to use client-supplied names, marks, materials, and instructions only as needed to perform the agreed services and confirms it has authority to do so.
COG Studios will not use identifiable commissioned work as a testimonial or promotional portfolio item unless the relevant agreement, release, consent, or other lawful basis permits that use. A rights concern or takedown request may be sent to info@cog-studios.com.
7. Responsibility and limits
Each party remains responsible for loss caused by its breach, negligence, fraud, wilful misconduct, infringement, or violation of law. Any project-specific limitation of liability must be stated in the signed agreement and applies only to the extent permitted by Ugandan law.
We are not responsible for an external platform’s outage, policy change, account restriction, content removal, network failure, venue restriction, or third-party act that is outside our reasonable control. This does not excuse a failure to use the care or contingency measures expressly promised in the project agreement.
8. Complaints, disputes, and governing law
Send a complaint to info@cog-studios.com with the project reference and requested resolution. The parties should first try in good faith to resolve the issue through written discussion. Any further dispute is governed by the laws of Uganda and may be brought before a court with jurisdiction in Uganda, unless the signed project agreement lawfully provides another dispute process.
9. Changes to these terms
The version shown when you use the website applies to that visit. A later website update does not silently change a signed project agreement.
